Leftist Thug Has Sudden Change of Heart Towards Cops Once Handcuffs Come Out

A smart-mouth liberal protester in Berkeley who refused to remove his mask sang a very different tune once police put him in handcuffs.

The video was posted by SF Gate writer Sarah Ravani. According to an article by Ravani, the young man filmed was part of a Thursday protest against conservatives on the University of California Berkeley campus, a flashpoint of Antifa activity in recent weeks.

The man was asked to remove his mask by police. He refused, saying the mask was due to a sore throat, and subsequently declined to provide identification, saying he had left it at home.

“I feel like I’m being criminalized,” the protester said.

The police gave him several opportunities to remove the mask but he refused to comply.

“I plead the Fifth,” he said, to which the officer responded, “That’s not applicable here.”

“Why is that not applicable?” said the protester, who apparently has as good of a grasp on the Fifth Amendment as he does regarding the First.

The cop then informed him that the Fifth Amendment only applies in court. One wonders if he’s a student at the fine institution of Berkeley; did the school neglect to impart this wisdom upon him? Or do they just not teach the Constitution there?

Eventually, police got tired of the charade and got the handcuffs out. It was at that point that the protester decided to take off his mask. I’m guessing his sore throat got better, but it was too little, too late.

Yes, apparently, this young man was willing to declaim his right to make a nuisance of himself. Right up until the point he realized — contrary to what his professors have no doubt told him. That the police actually do have the power to arrest you. In this case, UC Berkeley police say he was charged with obstructing officers. Wearing  a mask to evade police and giving false identification.

I have zero sympathy for this individual. What kind of moron wears a mask to a counterprotest over the cancellation of Ann Coulter’s speech, which was canceled over threats of violence? One who, one might assume, wanted to cause violence. Unfortunately, he also learned a lesson in just what police are for.
